Latin name: Leptopoecile elegans

Small sublime bird of scrubby alpine and subalpine forests.

Male has iridescent blue-green wings, a long silver cap, and rusty cheeks and neck. Female is paler, with a silvery-gray head and a thin black eyebrow. Both sexes have rosy pink flanks.

Forages actively, often with other species, particularly with small tits. Gives faint high thin notes.

All skeins are hand-dyed with care in a smoke-free and pet-free home. Please note that while all skeins are dyed together, every skein of yarn is unique and there may be some slight variation between them. After dyeing, all yarn is washed and rinsed thoroughly, however, a small amount of color bleeding may still occur during the first wash.

For best care, please gently hand wash in cold water with a wool wash and lay flat to dry. Store yarn in an area away from direct sunlight to help maintain color.
